# Connect Claude or ChatGPT

> Connect an AI assistant to your Glimps administration over MCP.

Glimps speaks MCP, the standard AI assistants use to connect to other systems. Connect one, and you can ask about your own invoice administration from inside Claude or ChatGPT.

Set it up under **Settings > Integrations > AI assistants**.

<Note>
  The connection is read-only. An assistant can read your administration. It cannot change, approve, book, or pay anything.
</Note>

## The connection link

There is one link, and it is the same for every assistant:

```
https://useglimps.com/mcp
```

Copy it from the settings page, then follow the steps for your assistant.

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Claude">
    <Steps>
      <Step title="Open the connectors settings">
        In Claude, go to **Settings > Connectors**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Add a custom connector">
        Click **Add custom connector**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Paste the link">
        Paste the connection link in the URL field and click **Add**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Sign in and approve">
        Sign in with your Glimps account and approve the access on the consent screen.
      </Step>
    </Steps>
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="ChatGPT">
    <Steps>
      <Step title="Turn on developer mode">
        In ChatGPT, go to **Settings > Connectors > Advanced** and switch on **Developer mode**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Create the connector">
        Back under **Settings > Connectors**, click **Create**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Fill it in">
        Give it a name such as Glimps, paste the connection link as the MCP server URL, and confirm that you trust it.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Sign in and approve">
        Sign in with your Glimps account and approve the access.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Switch it on in a chat">
        Click the plus next to the message box, choose **More**, and switch Glimps on for that conversation.
      </Step>
    </Steps>
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Another assistant">
    Look for **custom connector** or **MCP server** in its settings, and paste the same connection link.

    For a terminal client, create an API key under **For developers** on the settings page, and send it as a bearer token:

    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp add --transport http --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" glimps https://useglimps.com/mcp
    ```

    The key is shown once. Glimps keeps only a fingerprint of it.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## What the assistant may see

The consent screen tells you exactly what you are granting, and it depends on your role.

| Your role | What the assistant can read |
| - | - |
| Administrator or user | Company invoices, documents, coding, and approval status. Open work items, blockers, and summaries. Supplier history and the automation policies you configured |
| Approver | Only the invoices assigned to you, delegated to you, or assigned to your group, with their documents and approval context |

Your live role is enforced on every single call, not just at the moment you connect. If your role changes tomorrow, what the assistant can see changes with it.

<Warning>
  Check the address on the consent screen under **Sends data to**. That is where access to your administration ends up. If you do not recognise it, do not approve.
</Warning>

## Things to try

* "What is blocking my invoices this week?"
* "How much did we spend at Van Dijk Verpakkingen this year?"
* "Which suppliers are on autopilot?"
* "Summarise everything waiting for approval over 10,000 euro."

## Revoking

Revoke a connection under **Settings > Integrations**. It stops working immediately. Revoked connections stay visible in the list, so you can see what was connected and when it was last used.

<Tip>
  An approval link only works in the browser where you started the connection. If you get a message about another browser, reconnect from the assistant and you get a fresh link.
